When does EURO 2022 occur?
We have the great pleasure of inviting you to take part in the 32nd EURO Conference to be held in Espoo, Finland on the 3-6 July 2022
Where does EURO 2022 take place?
The conference takes place in the Aalto University Campus. Aalto University is located about 6 km to the north-west of Helsinki city centre.
What languages are spoken?
Many, but all event communication is in English.
Will the conference take place live in Espoo or virtual?
We are planning for an entirely in-person conference, so all participants will need to be present in Espoo, Finland. EURO 2022 are following the government guidelines in Espoo so, if there is any change to this, we will notify participants with new information and instructions.

I need an invitation letter to get a visa

- If your paper has been officially accepted, a link to generate the acceptance letter if you are the first author and an invitation letter link will appear if you are co-author of an accepted paper.
- If you have registered and paid your registration, you will find a link to download an alternative letter for visa purposes.
If you are not presenting a paper at the conference but still require an invitation letter for your VISA application, please email EURO2022@abbey.ie
Please be aware that the organisers of the conference cannot be held responsible for any decisions regarding the issue (or not) of a VISA or for any decision made by the Border Agency personnel at any airport
What type of delegate am I? Student/Retired or Regular?
If you are currently enrolled as a student in any institution doing an undergraduate, Master or Ph.D. degree, you qualify as a student. If you are retired from your occupation you qualify as a retired attendee. Otherwise, you are a regular attendant.
I come from a low income country. Can my registration fee be waived please?
As the local organizers for EURO 2022 have a very small budget, unfortunately no registration fee can be waived. There will however be special rates applicable for participates from low income countries. Please visit the registration page of the website for more details on low income country registration fees.
There are no scholarships for EURO 2022. Anyone who is from a country listed in the lower income list on the website can register at the reduced lower income registration rate. Any delegates from other low income countries not listed on the website can apply for this lower registration fee by emailing EURO2022@abbey.ie
I have submitted an abstract and the registration form is asking for my registration code. Where do I find this?
At the time of submitting an abstract you receive a unique 8 digit registration code. If you did not record the code at the time of submission please visit https://www.euro-online.org/conf/euro32/ and log in. The registration code will appear at the top of the page. It is very important you enter the code so your registration can be linked with your abstract submission.
Do I need to register before I submit an abstract?
No, you can submit an abstract now, and register later.
How many abstracts can I submit?
One registration allows for one presentation at the conference. No more than one presentation per registration is allowed.
When will I receive notice if my abstract was accepted?
Abstract acceptances will be sent out 4 April 2022
When should I submit my full paper?
The conference only accepts abstracts, so no full paper needs to be submitted. However, there will be one or more special issues of a journal devoted to the EURO conference. The special issues will have a specific theme and only space for 20-30 papers, so not all delegates can expect to have their full paper published.
Can I submit my full paper to a journal?
Yes, nearly all journals accept that a short abstract has been presented at a conference before the paper is submitted. The EURO conference only requires a short abstract in order to give a presentation at the conference, and therefore the author does not need to inform the journal about this presentation. EURO also does not need to know to which Journal the full paper will be submitted.
Are the papers indexed by ISI or other indexing services?
No. Short abstracts are normally not indexed.
Will there be printed proceedings?
Yes, the abstracts will appear in the electronic proceedings.
I have some wishes for dates of my presentation.
We cannot fulfil wishes for dates, since this would lead to a very fragmented program. Two speakers in the same session may have contradicting wishes, leading to splitting of sessions and streams. In special circumstances, you can try to contact the stream organizer, and ask him/her to schedule your session early/late in the stream. This can often solve the problem, since the streams are scheduled as a block.
When is my talk scheduled?
It takes quite some time to schedule a program with over 2000 talks. The program will be available not later than one month before the conference. Until then, we cannot answer questions about when talks are scheduled since we do not have the information.
I need to add or remove a co-author
You can still update your abstract by logging in to the submission system. The title of your submitted abstract should appear at the bottom of the page. Click on it, and on the following page, there is an option to add/remove co-authors.
Does the conference have an index in SCOPUS?
Our conference is not a “publication” that is cited in Scopus. However, we will have a full abstract booklet (of small abstracts) and Special Issues in good journals are in consideration.
Abstracts should be at most 1500 characters. Is there are other requirements about on the number of pages, font size, format, etc.?
Abstracts should contain no more than 1500 characters (no formulas or mathematical notation). We do not request specific font size or format
Organizing Sessions and Schedule Questions
Can I organize a stream about “xxx” in the conference and invite some researchers, students and etc. to submit their papers to this conference?
You are cordially welcome to collaborate with us for the EURO 2022. However, Streams have already been identified. For organizing a session, please select the stream areas as published on the conference website under the Areas tab or the Streams (hosting Sessions) as published at https://www.euro-online.org/conf/euro32/streams (after log-in to the system).
I am a session organizer. Can I apply for funds to cover my travel expenses?
Unfortunately, the local organizers of EURO 2022 do have a very small budget for fee reduction only which is reserved for participants from developing or “weak-currency” countries. Regretfully, participants have to make a “full” registration. Please check our website for various types of accommodation.
When will the detailed schedule be available?
A detailed schedule will be published closer to the conference.
Are there any special issues planned?
Special Issues in good journals are in consideration. However, we are still at a rather early stage and cannot give any further information on this at the moment.
How much time do I have for my presentation?
Regular sessions include 4 talks in 90 minute slots. Therefore, speakers should strictly adhere to no more than 20-minute presentations, allowing for 2-3 minutes for questions and discussion and speaker switching.
Can I present my work virtually?
At this moment, the conference is planned to be entirely in-person event, so all presentation will need to be presented live in Espoo. EURO 2022 we will always follow the government guidelines in Espoo so, if there is any change to this, we will notify authors who have submitted papers with new information and instructions.
